Italian Love Affair | A romantic elopement in Venice

Taking romantic photos in the Venetian lagoon is the inspiration of many photographers. Venice indeed, is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Italy. Absolutely one of my favorite places in Europe, and surely one of the most romantic places to plan your elopement! Who doesn’t love a secret elopement? The romance of an elopement always gets our hearts beating a little faster. Jana and Ian’s biggest dream of the day was a secret elopement, with only two of them, in front of the breathtaking scenery of San Marco. And so they did. Just a couple of shots at Grand Hotel dei Dogi, already adorned with Christmas décor, and we were ready to head off to the ceremony location.

The couple exchanged promises and rings at sunset on San Giorgio island. All around them, just a few curious passing tourists and the silence, broken only by the sound of the guitar. After the ceremony, we headed to Santa Maria della Salute to take advantage of the golden hour, the most beautiful time to take photos. Some couple shots in front of the church, others among the narrow streets concluding our time together in San Marco.

What can be more romantic than walking hand in hand with the love of your life, on the other side of the world, just married possibly in San Marco square? ? This is what we call La Dolce Vita!
